Lanarkshire's Working

A new initiative designed to help and support unemployed people into training and work across North Lanarkshire has been launched by North Lanarkshire’s Community Planning Partners.

Led by North Lanarkshire Council, Lanarkshire’s Working, has been established to break down the barriers which prevent people finding work locally and to challenge the misconception that North Lanarkshire has little to offer in the way of employment and training.

The initiative has been set up to give everyone who lives in North Lanarkshire the opportunity to access training or develop a new skill to improve their chance of finding long term employment in the area.

Several employment and training agencies are now working together to deliver Lanarkshire’s Working. Together, they have created a one-stop-shop for anyone who is unemployed and who wants to better their chances of finding a job or developing new skills.

The partnership initiative is being funded by the European Social Fund and the European Regional Development Fund and will combine the services of multiple agencies and community resources across North Lanarkshire, including: North Lanarkshire Council, Routes To Work, Jobcentre Plus, Motherwell College, Cumbernauld College, North Lanarkshire Volunteer Centre and Clyde Valley Housing Association.
